English
- General English
Our General English course develops all the language skills necessary to communicate and function socially in an English-speaking environment. Our experienced and well-qualified team of enthusiastic teachers aim to make learning both fun and as close to the needs and demands of real-life as possible.
- Academic English (including IELTS Exam Preparation)
Queens Academic Group has gained an enviable reputation in preparing students for the IELTS examination. This is in no small part due to the expertise of our teaching team. We recommend enrolment in the General English programme to deepen English and then six weeks in the IELTS programme before sitting the examination. Or, at the end of the six weeks returning to English classes for further work and then returning to the IELTS programme.
- English for Professionals
Our Business English course develops all the core language and communicative skills necessary to succeed at management level in an English- speaking workplace. Students may elect to sit the internationally-regarded TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) at Queens TOEIC test centre. this class will only be offered subject to student numbers.
- IELTS
The IELTS Evening Class programme is available int he evening subject to student numbers. The focus in on intensive IELTS Exam preparation and practice. Students MUST have an intermediate level of English and must commit to 100% attendance for the duration of the course. When offered this course has a set number of hours and students must attend all sessions.
- Conversational English (Evening Class)
Imagine talking and communicating in English with a native speaker in a friendly and interesting small-group environment.
The conversation class is a very popular option for those on a working holiday who want to improve their communication skills and meet interesting new people at the same time. The atmosphere is relaxed and the conversation flows freely every Monday to Thursday (different time options available).
This is subject to student numbers.
Business
- The New Zealand Diploma in Business (NZDipBus)
The New Zealand Diploma in Business (NZDipBus) introduces students to the main disciplines of business and provides a bridging programme to business degree study at New Zealand universities while also providing a free standing industry recognised qualification sought by New Zealand employers. This is a four semester programme. You may choose to specialise in either Accounting or Management depending on your future study or employment goals. Upon successful completion of this diploma course you will be awarded the New Zealand Diploma in Business (Level 6).
- National Diploma in Business (Level 6)
The National Diploma in Business (Level 6) builds on knowledge gained in the Level 5 course, extending a student's depth and breadth of appreciation and understanding of business operations and management processes and systems. Upon successful completion of this diploma course you will be awarded the National Diploma in Business (Level 6). The course is recognised through formal articulation agreements with selected New Zealand and Australian education providers.
- NZIM Diploma in Management (Level 5)
This two-semester full-time qualification consists of six papers from the NZ Diploma in Business L6, four of which are compulsory. The NZIM Diploma in Management provides a through grounding in business and management practice appropriate for people wishing to enter into management roles in business. The qualification is designed as an exit point from the NZ Diploma in Business for those students who wish to have a basic understanding of management practice, but do not wish to specialize in busines studies. It also provides a platform for students wishing to transition to degree programmes or advanced management qualifications such as the NZIM Diploma in Management ( Advanced). The NZIM Diploma in Management constitutes an NZQA approved 120 credit Level 5 qualification.
- National Diploma in Business (Level 5)
The National Diploma in Business (Level 5) is an intermediate qualification for students seeking a career in business or a convenient starting point for further studies in a business related discipline at university. Upon successful completion of this diploma course you will be awarded the National Diploma in Business (Level 5) which is widely recognised by employers throughout New Zealand.
- National Certificate in Business (Level 4)
The National Certificate in Business (Level 4) is an entry level qualification for students seeking a career in business or a convenient starting point for further studies in the field. It will provide you with a broad introduction to business studies along with an understanding of New Zealand's business environment.
Tourism
- NZIM-ATTTO Diploma in Tourism Management (Level 5)
This qualification was designed by NZ Institute of Management and the Aviation, Travel and Tourism Training Organisation to assist students and those already working in the tourism industry to become qualified to work in more senior positions.
Information Technology
- National Diploma in Computing L5
This unique programme combines business with IT, and enables graduates to function within a business environment with the added expertise of being able to provide IT support to their workplace.
- Diploma in Information Technology L7 (BusIT)
This programme is to provide businesses with high-level personnel that are multi-skilled and able to work within a business environment and contribute significantly to Information Technology strategies and support within the organisation.
- Diploma in Electronics and Telecommunications L6
This 1 year programme (first year of the Level 7 qualification) merges appropriate knowledge of electronics, communication engineering, mathematics, and electronics communication systems. It provides a broad base of technical competence of the basic building blocks of electronic devices and electronic communications technologies.
- Diploma in Electronics and Telecommunications L7
This 2 year programme offers advanced skills in electronic circuitry and telecommunications engineering technology. It provides a complex technical competence in electronic devices, electronic communications technologies such as radio, integrated electronics systems, and software that governs the application of this technology.
